Wyvetta Brooks, 80, of Macon passed away peacefully, Saturday, January 16, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, January 17, at 2:00 p.m. at Avondale Baptist Church with the Reverends Marty Watson and Foster Bell officiating. Interment will be immediately following in Avondale Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Following the burial, a celebration of her life will be held in the fellowship hall.
Born in Macon, she was the daughter of the late J.D. Bowen and Pearl Brown Bowen. She was a homemaker, and a long time member of Avondale Baptist Church, where she taught the four and five year olds Sunday school class for 36 years. She was also a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class.
Wyvetta was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Leverett. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Bobby Brooks. Son; Kevin Brooks (Carol). Daughter; Tonya Giddings (Paul). Son-in-law; Larry Leverett. Six Grandchildren; Calabria Turner, Madison Giddings, Justin Giddings, Steven Brooks (Tori), Matthew Brooks and Casey McMath, as well as one great-grandchild, Chloe McMath. Cousins; Nellie Johnson and Bernice Felker.
