Wyndelle "Sonny" Ervin Hartley
November 10, 1943 — March 17, 2023
Wyndelle "Sonny" Ervin Hartley, 79, of Roberta, Georgia passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 17, 2023. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at 2:00pm at Pleasant Hill Congregational Christian Church; 881 Avera Rd, Roberta, GA 31078. Pastor Russell Whitehurst will officiate.
Mr. Hartley was the Assistant Boy Scout Leader for Troup 264. He truly cherished the time he spent sharing his love for the outdoors with the younger generation. He was a long-time member of Order of Arrow. Mr. Hartley spent a majority of his days fishing the Flint River, or hunting. The Flint River was a breath of fresh air, and often where you could find him. Most importantly, Sonny enjoyed the time he spent with his family. He will truly be missed by all whom loved him.
Sonny was a dedicated worker of Flint Energies for 31 years serving as their Plant Apparatus Technician. At the end of his working career, he took a job with Warner Enterprise in which he enjoyed thoroughly. In 1999, Mr. Hartley medically retired.
Wyndelle is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Walter Ervin Hartley and Mrs. Mary Wynelle Mann Hartley; daughter, Sheila Zino; sister, Wynona Matthews; brother-in-laws, Pete and Irvin.
Left to cherish Mr. Wyndelle's memory is his loving wife of 60 years, Barbara Jean Parker Hartley; son, Lance (Michele); daughter, Debby (Travis); brothers, Wimberly and Wyman (Linda); sister, Wylodine; Grandchildren, Ben (Brigette), Justin Kenny(Samantha) Kris (Pamela), Kevin (Jessica), Taylor (Dereck), and Amber; Great-Grandchilden, Brittany (Kelbi), Ben JR., Blake, Hayden, Ella, Henley, Danicka, Dylan, Iris, Jonah, Gage and Daniel; Great- Great Grandchild, Brixton.
