Willie Howard Woodard

Willie Howard Woodard, 94, of Macon, peacefully entered his eternal home with the Lord on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, in the chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home. Following the service, Mr. Woodard will be laid to rest with Military Honors at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Woodard was born on September 9, 1931, in Cordele, Georgia, to the late Amos Woodard and Mable Bodrey Woodard. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, a chapter of his life that he always held with great honor and pride.

After his military service, Mr. Woodard dedicated many years to Armstrong World Industries as a forklift operator until his retirement. Never one to slow down, he fulfilled his dream of owning and operating M & W Electronics, where he built lasting relationships with customers and friends alike. He also found great joy in farming, a lifelong passion that brought him peace and fulfillment.

Mr. Woodard was a devoted Christian whose faith guided every aspect of his life. He faithfully read his Bible and prayed every day. He believed in treating everyone with kindness, compassion, and respect, never passing judgment on others. His gentle spirit, humble heart, and unwavering faith were evident to all who knew him.

He was a proud Master Mason with the Al Sihah Shriners and was an active member of the Macon Exchange Club, where he enjoyed serving his community and building lifelong friendships.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Woodard was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Dale Woodard; daughter, Theresea Lovinggood; brothers, John Woodard and N. E. Woodard; sisters, Ruth Busbee and Dora Mae Knight; brothers-in-law, Steve Hamlin and Tim Hamlin; and his cherished lifelong friends, Marion and Tincie Hammock.

Left to cherish Mr. Woodards memory are his loving wife of 44 years, Lisa Hamlin Woodard; their three girls (as he would call them); Natalie Roberts (Josh), Kelly Harris (JJ), and Stephanie Amerson; his special great-nieces, Mackenzie Roberts and Savannah Roberts; brothers-in-law, Andy Johns-Hamlin, Bruce Kilgore, and Tom Hamlin (Debbie); grandchildren, Shaun Lovinggood, Tiffany Woodard, Brandi Lovinggood, and Kristen Boggs; along with many beloved and special nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, countless friends who he considered family, especially Scott Kitchens, and all his precious furbabies.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Becky Douglas and Hospice Care Options for the exceptional care, compassion, and kindness shown to Mr. Woodard during his final days.

Mr. Woodard lived a life defined by faith, hard work, service, humility, and unconditional love. His quiet strength, generous heart, and steadfast example will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing he has been welcomed into the arms of his Savior.
