Willie Tidwell

Willie "Buck" S. Tidwell, 83 , of Lizella, Georgia, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, July 20, 2018. Funeral Services to celebrate his life will be held Sunday, July 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Fellowship Church, Sandy Point Road, Lizella. Reverend Russ Bozeman and Reverend Ricky Tidwell will officiate. Immediately following the service, Mr. Tidwell will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife Doris, in the church cemetery. The family will have a time of visitation to greet friends on Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home.
Born on September 18, 1934, he was the son of the late Willie "Sam" George Tidwell and Rubye Lee Tidwell. Mr. Tidwell retired from Warner Robins Air Force Base Air Freight Terminal after 35 years of service. He was a lifelong member of Fellowship Church.
Mr. Tidwell was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Doris Corley Tidwell. Siblings; Joel Tidwell, Stan Tidwell, and Faye Wisher.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving family. Children; Clay Tidwell (Sandra), Blaine Tidwell (Wanda), Joey Tidwell (Wendy), Robyn Moore, and Sherrie Smith. Siblings; Mary Jones (Grady), Christine Fountain, Willie Tidwell (Carol), Malcolm Tidwell (Linda), Donna Parker (Harold), Patsy Bybee (Tom) and Ricky Tidwell (Melinda).
11 Grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren were loved by "Papa Buck."
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Mr. Tidwell's caregiver Brittney Stanley for the love and care she showed him.
The family will graciously accept flowers or donations may be made in Mr. Tidwell's honor to Fellowship Church or Pine Pointe Hospice.
