Willie Allen Blizzard “W.A.”, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, life partner, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at the age of 87. A funeral service to celebrate W.A.’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 26, 2026, at FairHaven Funeral Home. The family invites friends to join them one hour prior to services for a time of visitation. Pastor Bobby Hamlin will be officiating all services.

W.A. was born on September 12, 1939, in McRae, Georgia, to the late Dan Lee Blizzard and Minnie Hatten Blizzard. From an early age, W.A. learned the value of hard work, a lesson he carried with him throughout his entire life. He was a hardworking man who took pride in providing for and caring for the people he loved.

Those who knew W.A. knew that he could be funny, caring, and, at times, more than a little stubborn. He had a personality that made him unforgettable, and his family will forever cherish the stories, laughter, and memories they shared with him.

One of the places that held a special place in W.A.’s heart was Horse Creek, where he spent much of his younger years swimming, enjoying the outdoors, and simply living life. Horse Creek was his happy place, a place filled with memories that remained special to him throughout the years. He also had a great love for fishing and could find great enjoyment in spending time outdoors.

W.A. had a soft spot for animals and was never one to turn away a hungry creature. From his porch, he would regularly feed cats, raccoons, and opossums, making sure that even the animals knew they had a friend in him. His kindness toward animals was simply another reflection of the caring heart he carried throughout his life.

For the last 26 years, W.A. shared his life with his beloved life partner, Zoe Brown. Together, they enjoyed traveling and making memories along the way. Their years together were filled with companionship, love, laughter, and countless experiences that they will forever hold dear.

W.A.’s greatest pride, however, was his family. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren deeply, and his presence will be profoundly missed by each of them. Though he is no longer with them physically, the lessons he taught, the laughter he shared, and the memories he created will continue to live on through the generations who loved him.

In addition to his parents, W.A. was preceded in death by his son, Will Blizzard; his brothers, Paul Blizzard, Daniel (Effie Joe) Blizzard, and Dewey Blizzard; his sisters, Clara Batchlor Blizzard and Mattie Kate Blizzard; and his grandson, Alan Blizzard.

Those left to cherish his memory include his life partner, Zoe Brown; his son, Tim (Sandy) Blizzard; his daughters, Lynn (JJ) Rhodes, Laurie (Kevin) Smith, and Traci (Kevin) Scott; his brother, Robert Blizzard; his grandchildren, Ashley, Angel, Reba, Jessica, Jerrett, Bradford, Karli, and Kelsey; and his great-grandchildren, Jayden, Jacob, Daiton, Dakota, River, Madison, Chaisty, Raven, Alora, Harley, Will, Sam, Mckenzie, Easton Pearson, Elyssa, Jase, Ryan, Kaleigh, Kenadee, and Easton. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will forever remember and love him.

W.A. lived a life filled with hard work, family, laughter, fishing, travel, animals, and countless memories. He will be deeply missed, but his life and the love he gave to his family will continue to be remembered for generations to come.
