William Willoughby

William Walter Willoughby, Jr., 69, of Marietta, Georgia, entered his heavenly home on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, in Macon, Georgia. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Mount Paran North Church; 1700 Allgood Rd NE, Marietta, GA 30062 at 11:00 A.M. Bill's family will accept friends from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. for a time of visitation. Dr. Brad Moffett will officiate.

Bill was born in Marietta, Georgia to Cleo T. Willoughby and William Walter Willoughby, Sr., In Macon, Georgia he met the love of his life, Karen Allen Willoughby. They were married on December 3, 1977, in Macon, Georgia. Bill graduated from Sprayberry High School in 1972. Bill and Karen are long-time members of Mount Paran North Church. He spent a majority of his career in construction, and according to him, "building half of Marietta!" He also served 20 years in the Marietta Jaycee's including 1 year as President, where he took his chapter to #1 in the state.

Bill was best known for his deep love of his family. He found great joy in their joy. In his words, "I'm happy if ya'll are happy!" He adored his wife of 45 years, Karen. He loved a good story, a good joke, and a lively hand of poker. He passed his love of laughter and shenanigans to his two sons and his grandson, who kept him laughing at family gatherings!

Bill is survived by his wife of 45 years, Karen Allen Willoughby, his sons, William "BJ" Walter Willoughby, III (Anna) and Ryan Allen Willoughby (Megan); his grandson, William Jacob Willoughby; his sisters, Glenda Meadows (Bill) and Barbara Willoughby; several nieces and nephews.
