William Rufus Tucker, 88, of Lizella, Georgia passed away Friday, December 17, 2021. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 12 noon in Bethel Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery with military honors and masonic rites. Reverend Jerry Garner will officiate. The family will have a time of visitation on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. till service time in the church.
Born in Macon, he was the son of the late Marshall Isaac Tucker and Edna Tidwell Tucker. He was retired sheetmetal fabricator with L.E. Schwartz Company after 39 years of service. Preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jean Tucker, Siblings, Betty Newberry, Vera Yawn, Martha Ann Casteel, Marshall Tucker Jr. , and Alton Tucker, 1 niece and 2 nephews.
Mr. Tucker was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church, and a member of the Lizella Masonic Lodge # 663 for over 50 years. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Jean Tucker, brother, Felton Tucker, children, Steve Tucker(Diann) daughter in-law Renee Underwood, Melissa J. Bergman; JoAnn Roberts, and Ronald Roberts(Theresa); Grandchildren, Daniel Tucker, Jacob Bergman, Joshua Bergman, Dillon Barton, Mason Underwood, Elizabeth Kelleher(Brandon), Frederick McCord(Rachael), Nicholas Roberts(Michelle), Jason Roberts(Jennifer) and Sara Roberts(Shane), great grandchildren, Elise Tucker, Madison, Noah, Landon, Aria, Frederick, Mariana, Cameron, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to the Bethel Baptist Church, Lizella, Ga. 7495 Knoxville Road Lizella, Georgia 31052.
