William Thomas Simonton, 84, of Macon, GA, died August 9, 2021 at Coliseum Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held on August 16,at 11:00 am with a visitation one hour prior in the chapel of Vineville Baptist Church in Macon Georgia. Mr.Simonton will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.
He was born August 31, 1936 in Griffin, GA to DeWitt and Paige Simonton.
He attended Griffin High School and continued/completed his education at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA. Mr. Simonton was a head football coach (and educator) throughout his career, retiring from Central High School in Macon, GA. Due to his coaching success, he wrote five books on coaching football.
He enjoyed sports, history and travelling to different countries. He was a father, husband, teacher, coach, prankster and teller of dad jokes. He was dedicated to his family in every way.
He was survived by his wife Lynnette Simonton and three sons, Michael, David and Steve.
