William "Butch, Butchie, Honey Pop" Mills, 69 years old, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024.
Born November 9, 1954, in Syracuse, New York, William was a friend to many. He grew up in Syracuse, where he could be found playing basketball, bowling and fishing.
William joined the United States Marine Corps where he served as a communications corpsman. After the Marine Corps, William worked for the Syracuse City School District where he became the head custodian at Hughes Magnet School.
Beyond his professional achievements, William was known for his sense of humor as he could be heard telling jokes and laughing as hard at a joke he said as he could from a joke he heard.
William will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Terry, Jimmy, William "Scooby", and Jimmy as well as his grandchildren, sisters, and brothers. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Brenda who passed away in 2020. It can be said he never fully recovered from her loss.
A celebration of life will be held at Martha Bowman UMC on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 2:00 pm.
