William "Bill" Hubert Higdon, a beloved resident of Lizella, GA, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 28th, 2026, at the age of 71. Born in Gadsden, AL, on Saturday, April 30th, 1955, Bill lived a life marked by love, dedication, and service to his family and community.
Bill was a skilled installation mechanic whose hands not only installed insulation but also built lasting relationships with those he served. His work was more than a job; it was a testament to his commitment to helping others.
Outside of his profession, Bill had a passion for yard sales, estate sales, and thrift shopping. He found joy in the stories behind every item and the thrill of discovering hidden treasures. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren, who affectionately called him "Paw Paw." His love and devotion to them were unmatched, and he cherished every moment he spent taking care of them.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Nichole Allen, step-son, Allen Taylor; his brothers, Jody Higdon (Bonnie) and Ricky Higdon (Kelly); his sister, Millie Arnold (Jimmy); and his grandchildren, Jace Higdon, Mallory Smith, Marcus Smith, Damien Higdon, Emma Allen, and Wesley Taylor. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember his warmth and kindness.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Hubert Roscoe Higdon and Ruby Jo Higdon, and his cherished spouse, Ellen Higdon. Their memories will forever be in the hearts of those who loved them.
A visitation for family and friends is scheduled for Friday, October 2, 2026 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at FairHaven Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
