William Alford Bean, 65, of Roberta, passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 10, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home. Following the service, Mr. Bean will be laid to rest at 2:00 PM in Asbury Cemetery in Gordon, Georgia. The family will have a time of visitation on Monday, August 9, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
Mr. Bean was born on December 8, 1955, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Cecil Bean and Ethel Fountain Bean. He was employed with Bennett Heating and Air, where he worked as a service technician. Mr. Bean was an avid outdoors man, spending much of his free time hunting, fishing, and farming. He loved taking gambling trips to Biloxi, Mississippi. Mr. Bean was the ultimate jokester. His greatest joy came from his family.
Mr. Bean was preceded in death by sisters, Dean Slocomb and Ginny Stembridge.
Mr. Bean is survived by his wife, Jennie Bean; son, Shawn Bean (Katie); grandchildren, Ava and Riley; step-daughters, Sara Barrett (Allen) and Kay Moncrief; step-grandchildren, Parker and Tucker; sister, Gwen Barton (Tom); and several nieces and nephews.
