William Barfield

William "Billy" Ashley Barfield, 77, of Macon, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 6, at 2:00 PM in Mikado Baptist Church with Pastor Ed Chambless officiating. Immediately following, Mr. Barfield will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time. Due to COVID-19, social distancing and masks are strongly encouraged for all services.

Mr. Barfield was born on November 16, 1944, in Doerun, Georgia, to the late Mr. Curtis E. Barfield, Sr. and Mrs. Mary E. Coleman Barfield. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Barfield was faithful member of Mikado Baptist Church, where he served as usher. He retired after many years of service as a self-employed plumber.

Mr. Barfield was preceded in death by his brothers, Wendell Barfield and Don Barfield.

Mr. Barfield is survived by his wife, Barbara Irene Raughton Barfield; sons, Shawn Barfield, Jerry Barfield; daughter, Rhonda Childs (Derek); grandchildren, Victoria Embs (Tristan) and Emily Graham; great-grandson, Jameson Embs; step-children, Wayne Hulette (Fulvia), Danny Hulette (Valerie), and Jeffery Hulette (Tori); 11 step-grandchildren; 16 step-great-grandchildren; siblings, Laquita Ratliff, Curtis Barfield, Jr. (Patricia), Jackie Norris (Lloyd), Virginia Wilson, and Karen Holland (Jim); sister-in-law, Betty South; and brother-in-law, Byron Raughton.
