Walter Lee Amerson, Jr., 80, of Macon passed away on March 29, 2019. A celebration of his life will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home, 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Rd, Macon.
W.L. was born on April 12, 1938 in Macon to the late Walter Lee Amerson, Sr. and Hazel Marie King Amerson. W.L proudly served our country in the United States Army National Guard for 17 years. He lived the majority of his life in Macon, in his earlier years; he was a Fireman and also worked at Robins Air Force Base as well as Inland Container. In his free time he loved to ride motorcycles as well as motorcycle drag racing and playing on a senior league softball team. His latest passion was slot car racing. His true love was trains, retiring as an engineer from Norfolk Southern Railroad.
W.L. was preceded in death by his parents as well as two siblings; Larry Amerson and Jack Amerson.
He is survived by three daughters; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
