Vita Bandy

Vita Jean Shirah Bandy, 74, of Macon, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 17, at 2:00 PM in Wheeler Heights Baptist Church with the Reverend Franklin Etheridge officiating. Immediately following, Mrs. Bandy will be laid to rest in Middle Georgia Memory Gardens.
The family will greet friends from 1:00 PM until service time at the church.

Mrs. Bandy was born on December 29, 1945, in Waycross, Georgia, to the late James Suard Shirah and Lena Mae Tooten Shirah. She was a God-fearing woman who adored her church family at Wheeler Heights Baptist Church. Mrs. Bandy loved the outdoors, especially gardening, fishing and going to the beach. Her family was her greatest joy.

Mrs. Bandy was preceded in death by her son, Angel Boy Smith; sister, Ruby Lanelle Shirah; brother, W.C. Shirah; brothers-in-law, Danny Bloodworth and Talmadge Miller; and beloved nephew, Joshua Shirah.

Mrs. Bandy is survived by her husband of 28 years, Doug "Sweetie" Bandy; daughters, Dana Mlynarski (Michael) , Shannon McCurdy (Austin), and Jana Bandy; sons, Carlos Smith, Jr. (Joanie), Kenny Smith, and Ronald Smith (Robin); 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie Shannon (J.R.) and Sheryl Bloodworth; brothers, Gary Shirah (Sue) and James Shirah (Diane); and several nieces and nephews.
