Vickie was born April 30, 1960, in McRae, Georgia to the late Mr. William Henry Gay and Mrs. Betty Rachel Gay. She lived a life full of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication. A lifelong member of Byron Baptist Church, her faith was the foundation of everything she did. For over 40 years, she worked with integrity and commitment as a field auditor, setting a standard of excellence in her profession. At home, Vickie ran a tight ship, her home was as organized as it was warm, especially during the holidays she adored. Whether it was the spooky charm of Halloween or the joyful colors of Easter, she decorated with unmatched passion. Vickie found true joy in the kitchen, where her famous peanut butter balls became a cherished tradition, and where Shawn was often the willing taste-tester of her latest Facebook recipe finds. But above all, it was her grandchildren who brought her the most happiness, playing with them, laughing with them, and showering them with love. Vickie's legacy is one of strength, joy, and heart, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, of 39 years, Dale McDonald; son, Shawn (Katie) Jenson; daughter, Nicole (Joshua) Hayes; grandchildren, Cheyenne (Michael), Adrianna, Lilly, Abby (Seth), Hannah, Emma, Colt, Zoey, Jakeb; great grandchildren, Tadem, Kash, Kolbie, Avery Katherine; and best friend, Vickie O'Connor.
