Veta Chapman Hamlin, 94, of Lizella passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Wednesday, September 14, 2016. Funeral Services to honor her life will be held Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Fellowship Evangelical Church, 4967 Sandy Point Rd, Lizella, with Entombment to be immediately following in Macon Memorial Park Mausoleum. Her son, Pastor Bobby Hamlin will officiate along with Pastor Russ Bozeman. The family will have a time of visitation to greet friends, Friday, September 16, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home.
Born in Crawford County, Georgia, to the late John Pierce Chapman and Lily Bell Long, Mrs. Hamlin was previously employed by Sears. She loved Flowers and riding on her Golf Cart. In her earlier years she also loved to travel. Family always came first in her life and she was an adoring Wife, Momma, Grandmother and Friend to all who knew her.
Mrs. Hamlin was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 61 years, Robert W. Hamlin, Sr.
Left to cherish her memory is her two children, Bobby Hamlin (Joanne) and Brenda Peacock (Mickey). Four Grandchildren; Angie Mattox (Timmy), Alicia Spillers (Jimmy), Roger and Chad Peacock (Tonya). Four Great-Grandchildren; Sheldon and Jarred Mattox, Justin Spillers, and Lauren Hodge; Seven Great Great-Grandchildren; Caroline and Chloe Mattox, Abigail, Annabelle, and Amelia Spillers, Carson Mattox, and Weston Hodge. As well as five Brothers.
The family will graciously accept flowers or donations may be made to Southeastern Holiness Camp, 5155 Sandy Point Road, Lizella, Georgia.
