Travis Carlton Stroud, Jr.
January 10, 1934 — March 15, 2024
Travis Carlton Stroud, Jr. went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 15, 2024. A funeral service to honor his life will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Three Oaks Bible Chapel with military honors. The family will greet friends at 1:00pm, one hour prior to the service. Pastor Ed Chambless, Pastor Mike Stokes and Elder John Moore will officiate. Mr. Stroud will be laid to rest at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, Georgia.
He was born in Hollywood, Florida to Travis C. Stroud Sr. and Mattie Ventry Stroud. At 13 years of age he traveled to El Sobrante, California to live with his father and step mother. Travis honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He spent 10 years in the Air Force, then worked for Local 387 Ironworker and welding, where he spent 55 years. Travis loved hunting, fishing and his family, but his eyes would light up when he saw his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Travis will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
He is predeceased by Travis and Mattie Stroud and brother, Bob Stroud.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Stroud, daughter, Darlene (Mitch) Harper in San Francisco. Son, John (Lori) Stroud in Lizella. Grandson, Christopher Harper of San Jose, California and Grand daughters, Jennifer Harper of San Jose, California, Victoria (Justin) Blizzard of Byron, Brittany (Jacob) McNeese of Elko, Brooke Stroud of Byron. 4 great granddaughters and 2 great grandsons. Brother Tom Stroud in Idaho, and a good many nieces and nephews.
