Terrell Sloan Marshall, 82, of Byron, Georgia, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, July 11, 2026.

A funeral service celebrating Terrell's life will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Open Bible Church, 6490 Sandy Point Road, Lizella, Georgia 31052. The family invites friends to join them one hour prior to the service for a time of visitation. Immediately following the service, Terrell will be laid to rest in the Open Bible Church Cemetery. Deacon Mac Walker will officiate all services.

Born on October 24, 1943, in Macon, Georgia, Terrell was the son of the late Mr. Clifford Marshall and Mrs. Edna Pearl Sloan Marshall.

Terrell was a man who found his greatest joy in the simple things in life. Whether he was casting a fishing line, working with his hands in the woodshop, tending to the farm, hunting, or simply enjoying the outdoors, he was happiest surrounded by God's creation. He was rarely without his Red Man chewing tobacco and was known for his hardworking spirit and unwavering love for his family.

Above all else, Terrell treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They brought endless joy to his life, and he loved every opportunity to laugh, play, and make memories with them. He had a personality that was larger than life, bossy in the most endearing way, quick with a joke, and always able to make those around him smile. Family and friends will forever remember one of his signature sayings, "Bout time you get on the road," his lighthearted and polite way of letting visitors know it was time to head home. It became one of the many expressions that made Terrell uniquely himself and will continue to bring smiles to those who loved him.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, Terrell's legacy will live on through the values he instilled, the laughter he shared, and the countless lives he touched with his kindness and generosity. He was truly a good man whose love for his family was evident in everything he did.

In addition to his parents, Terrell was preceded in death by his beloved son, Gary Marshall; his brothers, Charlie Marshall and Jimmy Marshall; and his sisters, Bertha Thomas and Sue Becham.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 60 years, Elizabeth Mimbs Marshall; his son, Randy (Tonya) Marshall; his daughter-in-law, Gerry Marshall; his sister, Betty Gordon; his grandchildren, Heather (Chris) Perkins, Christopher (Kendell) Marshall, Catie (Dee) Martin, Preston (Samantha) Marshall, Jordan (Kerris) Marshall, Alexandria Marshall, Casey Marshall, and Selena Marshall; his treasured great-grandchildren, Cy, Avery, Dixie, Dakota, Beau, Maverick, Emersyn, Myles, Willow, and Hudson; along with a number of beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.

Though his presence will be deeply missed, the love, laughter, wisdom, and unforgettable memories Terrell shared with those around him will remain in their hearts forever.
