Susan Elaine Simmons McGettigan, of Macon, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. The family will have a time of visitation on Monday, August 12, 2024, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Fairhaven Funeral Home. The family will have a brief moment of words and memories during the visitation.
She is the daughter of the late Mr. Jimmy Wayne Simmons and Mrs. Carrie Simmons. Mrs. Susan was a devoted dog mom, always ensuring they had the best life possible. She enjoyed baking, and keeping those around her fed well. Susan had a gentle spirit that enjoyed the simple things in life. Above all, her family was the light of her life. She will be missed dearly by all those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Wayne Simmons, Jr.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 29 years, Scotty; son, Andy Byrd; daughter, Heather Kowlodziejski; mother, Carrie Simmons and grandchildren, Chet and Carleigh.
