Stephen was born in Macon, Georgia on August 19, 1952, to the late Mr. Leroy Marshall and Mrs. Anne Jones Marshall. He was a long-time member of Lizella Baptist Church where he devoted much of his time and made many friendships. Stephen was a good man whose legacy of hard work and dedication to his family will never be forgotten. After working for Norfolk Railroad for 35 years, he retired with pride, knowing he had given his best to provide for those he loved. Raised on a farm, Stephen took great pride in his roots, tending to his Hereford cattle and handling the tough farm tasks of cutting, raking, and baling hay. His work ethic was unmatched, always ensuring his family had what they needed. Above all, Stephen was a devoted husband, always putting his wife's well-being first. His strength, kindness, and unwavering commitment to his loved ones will be missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Elaine Marshall; sister, Sara Frances Spearman; sister-in-laws, Carol Edwards and Jane Ragsdale; niece, Tiffany Gieler (William) and nephew, Todd Spearman; two great nephews, Trent and Carson Gieler; a host of cousins and friends around Lizella, Georgia and special friends, Mike and Dianne Glenn and their family; and lastly, his fur babies; Brodie and Obie.
In lieu of flowers, the family graciously asks that you if you wish, to donate in Stephen's honor to one of the following; Lizella Baptist Church, Brightmoor Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association.
