Shirley Jean Martin Queen, 88, of Macon, Georgia passed away peacefully on Friday, September 6, 2024. The family invites friends to join them for a time of visitation on Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Fairhaven Funeral Home; Macon, Georgia. Immediately following the visitation, Ms. Queen will be laid to rest in Westview Cemetery in Soperton, Georgia. Mr. David Martin will officiate the committal.
Shirley was born on September 6, 1936, to the late Mr. Oliff C. Martin and Mrs. Mildred Moore Martin. She was a long-time member of Pine Forrest Baptist Church where she faithfully attended since the early 1960's. She devoted much of her time to her Sunday School class and made many lasting friendships. Shirley was also a member of the Red Hatters. She worked for Robins Air Force Base as an Engineer Data Entry Specialist, earning a Special Achievement Award before retiring. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, cruises, and crossword puzzles. Above all, her family was most special to her. Shirley was a woman of prayer, always praying for them and dedicated to nurturing and loving them until the very end. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, James W. Logan; husband, Billy Queen; sister in law, Emma Martin.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Kenneth W. Logan (Donna) and Debra J. Soles (Ray); brother, Eddie Martin; grandchildren, Jessica (Jon), Joshua, Brian (Katie), Katie and Kevin; great grandchildren, Jesse, Kaleb, Brannon, Cameron, Harley, Jarrett, David, Kaylon, Maddox, and Marleigh; nephews, David Martin and Robert Martin.
