Shirley Patricia "Pat" Simmons Hayslip

Shirley Patricia "Pat" Simmons Hayslip, 83, of Macon, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2022. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 4, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home with Pastor, Quinn Hammock officiating. The family will have a time of visitation on Wednesday August 3, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Pat or "Bug" as she was affectionally called by her family, was born on December 18, 1938, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Mr. Addis Franklin Simmons and Mrs. Ethel Gooden Simo. She was retired from Happs Manufacturing, where she worked as a machine operator. Pat spent much of her free time, fishing, boating, and sitting on her front porch in her rocking chair "blaring" her country music. She liked to travel and visit casinos. Pat's greatest joy came from her family and her dogs, Bear and Dixie, all of which she loved so very much.

Pat was preceded in death by her first husband of 30 plus years, Lawrence Harold Braswell; second husband of 10 years, David Ishmael Hayslip; grandson, Jason Vinson; seven siblings; and son-in-law, Roy Meadows.

Left to cherish Pat's memory is her daughters, Connie Brown (Marvin), Carolyn Morrissey (Stephen), and Karen Meadows; grandchildren, Charles Abercrombie, Heather Higgs (Allen), and Patrick Morrissey (Susan); great-grandchildren, Abigale, Killian, Riley, Bryana, and Morgan; sisters, Betty Petzold, Ann Winand, and Barbara Jean Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
