Sherrill Morris Campbell, 84, entered into eternal rest and went to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, January 4, 2016. Funeral Services to honor his life will be held Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Central Fellowship Baptist Church in Macon with The Reverends Rodney Queen and Herbert Williams officiating. Immediately following the service Sherrill will be laid to rest in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends Wednesday, January 6, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Central Fellowship Baptist Church.
Born in Fulton County he was the son of the late Boyd Thomas Campbell and Amelia Latham Campbell. Sherrill was an active member of Central Fellowship Baptist Church. He pastored several churches in the Middle Georgia area. His most recent ministry work took place at Porterfield Health and Rehabilitation Facility, Goodwill Nursing Home, Cherry Blossom Health and Rehab, Warner Robins Rehab, and The Macon Rescue Mission. Sherrill was a godly man and took every opportunity to minister anyone he met. He was a pillar to his church family and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Sherrill was greeted at the gates of heaven by his two daughters, Ellen Leslie and Janet Campbell. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 61 years, Shirley James Campbell. Daughter; Margie Price (Ken) of Warner Robins, Georgia, Son-in-law; Dean Leslie of Indiana, 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Brothers; Rodger Campbell (Janice) of College Park, Georgia and Wade Campbell (Shirley) of Hernando, Mississippi.
