Macon, GA – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shelia Elaine Harris, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, in her hometown of Macon, Georgia. She was 69 years old.
Born on a serene Sunday, January 6, 1957, in Macon, Shelia was the cherished daughter of the late Hugh and Edith Hudgins. She was a dedicated employee at Crossmark, where she worked as a merchandiser, known for her feisty spirit, sweet nature, and unwavering compassion.
Shelia was a devoted member of the former Southside Baptist Church. Her love for reading was well-known among her family and friends, with a particular fondness for mysteries and celebrity biographies.
Shelia's life will be celebrated on Monday, February 2, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home in Macon, GA. The service will be officiated by Bishop William Rand. Prior to the celebration of life, a visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Laura Harris and Lisa Brady (Billy); her brothers, Steve Hudgins and Sidney Hudgins; sister, Kay Hudgins; and half-brother, Gerald Hudgins. She was a proud grandmother to C.J. Johnson, Jasmine Johnson, Carlos Reynolds, and Emily Brady, and a cherished great-grandmother to eight great-grandchildren.
Shelia is preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Edith Hudgins; her brother, William Hudgins, her sister, Dee Penfield; half-brother, Wayne Hudgins; and half-sister, Ann Palmer.
