Shelby Hamlin Adams, 81, of Macon, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023. The family will have a time of visitation to greet friends on Thursday, March 16, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home. Burial will be private in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Adams was born on September 11, 1941, in Macon to the late George and Virginia Hamlin. She worked as a office manager for March of Dimes before retiring. Her first job was at RAFB where she met and married Franklin, who had been stationed at Robins. They were married for 40 years until his passing. In her free time she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She spent 10+ years as a volunteer with VFW 658 along with her husband Frank. They shared a love for this organization, spending many evenings and weekends calling Bingo,Fish Fry's, and community activities that included the Children's Christmas Party, Easter Egg hunt , a haunted trail at Halloween and selling Buddy Poppies. Lifelong friends were made during this time.
Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband; Franklin C. Adams. Daughter; Kelly Lynn Adams and brother; Jimmy Lamar Hamlin, granddaughter; Kelly Kam Hill Cunningham and Son-in-law; Michael Crute
Mrs. Adams is survived by her children; Kammy Hill (David), Kim Crute Capoya (Manuel), Karl Adams, Kristie Friar (Mark) and Kyle Adams. Grandchildren; Amanda Hill, Jessica DuBose (Brad), Adam Crute, Ashley Crute, Katherine Adams, Kendall Friar, Kole Adams. Great Grandchildren; Dustin Hill, Kaylee Molton, Kelsey Potts, Sophia Johnson, Abby Crute, Dylan DuBose, Conway DuBose, Andrew Ballard, Kamdyn Cunningham, Braxton Strickland, Blair Strickland and Emerson Welch. Great Great Grandchildren; Frankie Oliveros, Kelly Grace Potts, Kennedy Hill, Selena Oliveros, Addilynn Hill, Lyla Potts and Zora Molton. Brothers; Wayne Hamlin,and Greg Hamlin as well as her brother-in-law Jack Adams.
