Serina Hamlin

Serina Connell Hamlin, 51, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 16, 2022. A Celebration of Life for Serina Connell Hamlin will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 3:00pm in the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home with Mr. Larry Goodwin officiating. The family will greet friends and loved ones one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
Serina was born in Macon on August 5, 1970 to her parents, Jerry Connell and Alma Nora Whitman. She Is preceded in death by her biological father, Jerry Connell; first husband, Paul Elsasser; bonus father, Jim Sweatman; in-laws, Prentiss Kendall Hamlin, Sr. and Linda Hamlin.
Serina was a crafty woman. She loved to put wreaths together for the holidays and enjoyed walking around Hobby Lobby to see what new things she could make for someone. When she wasn't crafting, Serina was baking. She enjoyed decorating cakes for different events and making baked goods for all to enjoy. Serina was always one to put others before herself. She loved her family with everything she had and would do anything she could to make sure that their needs were met. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, friends, and MeMaw.
Serina's memory will forever be cherished by her beloved husband, Prentiss Kendall "Ken" Hamlin, Jr; children, Brittany Goodwin (Larry), Paula Elsasser (Donnie Murray); bonus children, Billy, Brittney, Brandon, Kimberly, Shy; grandchildren, Lyla Goodwin and Samuel Murray; mother, Alma Sweatman; sisters, Cathy Horn (Garold) and Amy Handley (Mike); and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family also survive.
The family would also like to express their since appreciation to the staff of Heart of Georgia Hospice for their phenomenal care during Serina's last days.
