Sarah Elizabeth Nantz, 91, passed away, July 27, 2016 at her home following two months of declining health. Funeral Services to honor her life will be held Saturday, July 30 at 3:00 p.m. in Mausoleum Chapel at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The Reverend Herbert Williams will officiate. Entombment will be immediately following the service. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 p.m.
Sarah Clark was born on Second Street in Macon on 30 December 1924 to William Edgar and Willie Belle "Bo" (Lisenby) Clark. She grew up in Macon where she lived almost half her life, working for a number of years at Robins Air Force Base. She and her husband, Clifford Nantz, lived in a variety of places as he was transferred to Buckley AFB, CO; Sembach and Ramstein AFB in Germany; and bases in Maine, Texas, and Missouri before retiring to Tampa in 1985. She toured Europe as president of the NCO Wives Club and referred to the station at a radar site in coastal Maine as "plum and nearly--plum out of the United States and nearly out of the world".
She was predeceased by her mother in 1953, her father in 1960, her brother Arthur Martin Clark in 1974, and her oldest son, Donald Eugene Copeland, in 1989.
Survivors include her husband; Clifford Nantz; daughter; Donna Jean (Bill) Hale, twin sons, Douglas E. (Arlette) Copeland and Doyle E. (Janet) Copeland, and daughter Deborah Jo (Stephen) Mrozinski.
Grandchildren include Michael (Denise) Chute of Anderson, SC; Tony (Connie) Chute of Hesperia, CA; Jesse Copeland of Vancouver, WA; April Faith (Keith) May of Atlanta; Frances ElizaBeth (George) Ruff of Macon; Douglas (Margeaux) Copeland II of Hiram; Kelly Marie (Bob) DeSantis of Macon; Anna (Scott Stanfield) Kallergis of Leesburg; and Sara Alexandria (Matt) Morrison of Tampa.
Great-grandchildren include Martika Tollison of Williamston, SC; Amos and Joelle Chute of Hesperia, CA; Dylan and Taylor Copeland of Oregon; Conner and Logan Copeland of Vancouver, WA; Rory Lewis May of Atlanta; Wyatt Douglas Copeland of Hiram; Devin Garrett and Joshua, Joseph Lane, Lolagrace Marie and Lexa Rose DeSantis of Macon; and Ava Kallergis of Leesburg. Great-great grandchildren include Artemis and Ramona Tollison of Williamston, SC.
