Sandra Lynn Parker, 85, of Centerville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
Sandra was born on May 22, 1941, in Elgin, Illinois, to the late Harold “Hun” Sabin and Pearl Juhrend Sabin. She was a woman of strength, warmth, creativity, and unwavering love for her family. Having raised four boys, Sandra was tough when she needed to be, but she was always gentle at heart. Her family knew they could count on her for guidance, encouragement, and, most of all, unconditional love.
Sandra found joy in the simple things in life. She loved crafts and especially enjoyed crocheting, creating beautiful pieces with her own hands. She was an avid reader and particularly enjoyed the Sue Grafton series. Music was another special part of her life, and she loved singing in choirs.
Sandra was also a wonderful cook and took great pride in preparing meals for her family. She was especially known for her pot roast, chili sauce, and German potato salad. She cherished the recipes that had been passed down through the Sabin family and made it a priority to preserve those treasured recipes so that future generations could continue to enjoy the flavors and traditions of their family.
Above all else, Sandra loved her family. Her greatest joy was the time she spent surrounded by the people she loved, and the memories she created with them will remain a treasured part of her family’s story for generations to come.
In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 32 years, Curley Parker; her sisters, Wilma Cherco and Joleta Gibbs; and her granddaughter, Sara Lynn Humphry.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Brad Humphry, Todd (Janita) Humphry, Jefrie (Shanyn) Humphry, and Corey Humphry; her stepchildren, Trish Brown and Guy Parker; her grandchildren, William (Whitney), Jeffrey, Blaise (Maggie), Tegan, and Megan; her great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Olivia, Noah, Korah, Adelyn, Lainey, and Bodey; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who will forever hold her close in their hearts.
Sandra leaves behind a legacy woven through family, recipes, music, handmade treasures, laughter, and countless memories. Though she will be deeply missed, her love will continue through the generations she nurtured and the family traditions she so lovingly preserved.
A service to celebrate Sandra’s life will be held at a later date.
