Sammy Joe Dame, 87, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021. Funeral services will be private.

Mr. Dame was born October 14, 1933, in Dooly County, Georgia. He grew up in Macon, graduating from Pearl Stephens Elementary School and Lanier High School. Mr. Dame attended Mercer University. He was an Air Force Veteran, serving in Texas, Florida, Colorado, Georgia, and Japan. Mr. Dame worked at Robins Air Force Base for 69 years. He was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church. Mr. Dame was active in various community organizations, including Theatre Macon's Youth Artists Company (YAC) and the volunteer staff at the Grand Opera House. He was a long-time member of Macon Southside/Cherry Blossom Lions Club.

Mr. Dame was preceded in death by his parents, Hulit Royal and Samuel J. Dame, and daughter Alison Dame Van Coney.

Mr. Dame is survived by his wife and love of his life, Annie C. Dame; daughter, Andrea Fischer (Craig); sister, Virginia Clark (Ginger); three grandchildren; three nieces, and one nephew.
