Sammie Ann Moss

Sammie Ann Moss, age 82, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2026.

Born in Byron, Georgia on November 24, 1943, Sammie was the beloved daughter of the late Laura and Sam Green. She was a proud graduate of Byron High School.

Sammie dedicated her life to bringing joy and care to her community. For over 20 years, she worked as a director for Children’s Friend daycare center, where she treated every child in her care as if they were her very own. She also brought beauty into local lives through Doodle Bugs Florist, a family-owned business in Byron. Gifted with a creative spirit, she spent her free time coloring and was well known for baking beautiful wedding cakes for her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leon Moss; her daughter, Ginger Lynn Quirk; her sons-in-law, Tim O'Connor and Kevin Stewart; her five siblings, Matt, Robert, Patrisha, Mary Beth, and Martha; and her great-grandchild, Ansleigh.

Her love lives on through her surviving family. She is survived by her daughters, Vickie O’Connor (Mike Pate) and Christina Stewart. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Lindsey (Wes) Neal, David (Sheena) O’Connor, Jessica O’Connor, Whitney (Justin) Peacock, Kayleigh Stewart (Bryce Eaton), and Michelle (Brett) Tisdale; and her nine great-grandchildren, Bralynn, Addison, Jaxon, Jamison, Harper, Callie, Nolan, Sam, and Elliott. She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Fair Haven Funeral Home in Macon, Georgia. Services will take place in the Chapel of FairHaven on Thursday, October 8th, 3:00 PM beginning with a visitation one hour prior to the service from 2:00 PM until 3:00PM.
