Samantha McMillan Varner, 58, of Macon, Georgia passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024, after a short but courageous battle with sickness. A memorial service to honor her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, in the chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home. The family invites friends to join them one hour prior to the service for a time of visitation. Immediately following, Samantha will be laid to rest next to her daughter, Michaela in Riverside Cemetery. Pastor Ronnie Hollis, Jr. will officiate.
Samantha was born on August 19, 1966, to the late Mr. Michael McMillan and Mrs. Sammie Ashley. She was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. Samantha spent her life always ensuring her family was taken care of, and well loved. Her kind spirit was exemplified by her love for pets. She enjoyed reading mystery novels, and the thrill they provided. Samantha looked forward to watching the NASCAR races, and especially her favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt, Sr. Samantha was a light to all those who knew her and will be dearly missed by everyone that was blessed with her friendship.
In addition to her parents, Samantha was preceded in death by her daughter, Michaela "Kaylee" Ashley Watts; brother, Michael McMillian; and stepfather in law, Freddie Pipkin.
Left to cherish Samantha's memory is her loving and devoted husband, Rick Varner; daughter, Cassidey Varner; son, Ricky Varner (Tucker); grandchildren, Everleigh Odessa and Mallory Lynn; mother in law, Joella Pipkin; father in law, Harold Varner; aunt, "Momma Gail" Ashley-Walker (Johnny); brother, Lee Echols (Maryann); sister, Brandy Albright (James); uncles, Jerry Ashley (Patricia) and Hank Ashley (Janet); and a special "daughter," Lacie Hodges (Brandon); and numerous extended loving family members.
