Ruth "Jean" Kelly Potts, 80, of Lizella, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 10:00 AM in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, with Pastor, Ed Chambless officiating.
Jean was born on February 25, 1943, to the late Mr. Jefferson Horace Kelly and Mrs. Nellie "Nell" Cofield Creswell. She was employed with both Happs and Robins Air Force Base, where she worked as a seamstress/fabricator. After retiring, Jean enjoyed being a homemaker for her family. She spent much of her free time with her two cats, Bootsy and Scoot, and playing Bingo.
Mrs. Potts was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Osterman.
Mrs. Potts is survived by her husband of 56 years, Donny Joe Potts; daughter, Laurie Stone (Keith); grandson, Cody Stone (Faith) of Dublin; great-grandson, Riley Stone; sister, Collen Jump (Dean) of Byron; brothers, Stanley "Stan" Kelly (Pat) of Fort Valley, Randy Creswell and Danny Creswell, both of Lizella; sister-in-law, Dr. Judy Monthie-Doyum (Bekir) of Instanbul, Turkey; and several nieces and nephews, who she all loved.
