Ruth Woodard Busbee, 89, of Macon, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024. Funeral services to honor her life will be held on Monday, July 22, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home with the Reverend, Tim Sizemore officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time.
Mrs. Busbee was born on July 8, 1935, in Crisp County, to the late Mr. Amos Woodard and Mrs. Mable Bodrey Woodard. She was a former member of Pine Forest Baptist Church and a current member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Mrs. Busbee was a homemaker that made a caring and loving home for her family. In her free time, she liked to travel, garden, and walk the Macon Mall. Mrs. Busbee was also a wonderful cook, known for her famous chocolate cake, of which the recipe was top secret. She was the ultimate jokester, who loved to laugh. Mrs. Busbee will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Busbee was preceded in death by her first husband of 40 plus years, James Busbee and second husband of 10 plus years, Rufus Bellflower; sister, Dora Mae Knight; and brothers, N.E. Woodard and John Woodard.
Left to cherish Mrs. Busbee's memory are her daughter, Michelle O'Quinn (Craig); granddaughters, Kalyn O'Quinn Callaway (Caleb) and Lauren O'Quinn; great-grandchildren, Thomas and Addison; brother, Willie Woodard (Lisa); and several nieces and nephews.
