Roy Clifford Thompson Jr., 64, of Knoxville, Georgia, Roy "RT" went to see our lord and savior Jesus Christ peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, October 19, 2021. A service to honor his life will be held at Bethel Baptist Church in Lizella on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 2:00 PM with Pastors Jerry Gardner and Pastor Benjamin Newberry officiating. The family will have a time of visitation from 1-2 PM in the sanctuary.
Roy had a love of the lord, his loving wife, two sons, beautiful grandchildren, and president Trump. Roy was always a family man, hard worker, caregiver, and always an entrepreneur. With Roy, everything was an adventure; every idea was a business, and a new way to provide more. Roy loved to tinker, and would mechanic on anything he could, including one of his loves, racecars. He loved to gather with family whenever possible.
Roy grew up in Macon, became a Marine and was proud of his service to his country. He also cared about his community, a member of local masonic lodge, he done a great deal of work with the Shrine as a member of the Al-Sihah Shrine Temple in Macon. He was a long-time member and a deacon at Bethel Baptist Church in Lizella, GA.
Roy came into this world to his parents on October 7, 1957, the late Ruby Simmons (Thompson) and the late Roy Thompson Sr. of Warner Robins, GA. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Renee, his sons Roy "Trey" III (Lena) their children Jacob and Bristol, Jason (Pam) their children Eli, and Chase, his siblings Anne Ruth, BJ, Jimmie, and host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, and a plethora of friends. He was preceded in death by his sister Mary, and brother Jim.
