Ronald Morgan Thompson, 77, of Byron, peacefully went to be with his Lord on Friday, May 15, 2026. A Memorial Service to Celebrate his Life will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Fellowship Community Church, 7401 McCall Rd. Lizella, GA 31052, with Pastor Quinn Hammock officiating all services.
Born on June 24, 1948, in Macon, Ronald was the son of the late Mr. Otis Morgan Thompson and Mrs. Edna Lloyd Thompson. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving his country honorably and carrying that sense of dedication and responsibility throughout his life.
Ronald spent many years working in the grocery industry, faithfully serving his community through his work with Kroger, Food Lion, and Food Max. Known for his dependable nature and steady work ethic, he took pride in providing for himself and those around him. Through the years, he built many friendships with coworkers and customers alike who appreciated his kindness and familiar presence.
Above all else, Ronald loved the Lord. His faith remained an important part of his life and gave him strength through every season. He enjoyed life’s simple blessings, treasured quiet moments, and valued the relationships and experiences that shaped his journey. Ronald will be remembered as a man who lived with humility, perseverance, and a sincere spirit.
Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him and loved him.
He leaves behind his sister, Sharon Williams; one son; two daughters; many grandchildren
