Ronald Oscar Hollis, Sr., 83, of Macon, Georgia, joined his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. The family will have a time of visitation to greet friends on Thursday, August 10, 2023, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Fairhaven Funeral Home. A memorial service to honor his life will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary of Evangelistic House of Prayer; 40 Huckleberry Lane Fort Valley, Georgia 31030. Immediately following, Mr. Hollis will be laid to rest at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery privately with his family. His son, Pastor Ronnie Hollis, JR and Pastor Charles Osborne will officiate.
Ronnie was a hard-working man who took care of his family, and anyone in need. He could really fix anything. He was a faithful member of Evangelistic House of Prayer. Ronnie was retired from White & Lavender Pest Control after 40 years of service. He served in the United States Navy where he was stationed on the USS Enterprise. As the devoted Boy Scout Master of Troup 283, he instilled values of leadership in countless young lives. A cherished member of the Conquerors Gospel singing group, his melodious voice touched hearts and souls. Always impeccably dressed, his style reflected his dignified spirit. With a mischievous twinkle in his eye, he was a beloved prankster, spreading laughter wherever he went. His love for the outdoors and fishing was unwavering, finding joy and happiness in nature's embrace. Ronnie's legacy is one of laughter, love, kindness, and joy.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his wife Sharon Ennis Hollis; parents, James Edward Hollis, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Huff Hollis; son-in-law, Eddie McGreggor; and brother, Jimmy Hollis.
Left to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy is his loving family: children, Ronnie Hollis, Jr., (D'Ree), Scott Hollis, Sr. (Lanette), Tracie McGreggor; grandchildren, April (Jay) Hollis, Scott Hollis, Jr., Kristi (Patrick) Hollis, Jennifer (Stuart) Williams, Rachel (Michael) Shurling, Rebecca Hollis, Erica (Michael) Flynn, Jessica Marberry; 22 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Linda Hunnicutt, Carol (Gordon) Wells; a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends.
With profound gratitude, the family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the village that provided care for Ronnie; Compassus Hospice, D'Ree Hollis, Scott Hollis,Sr., their next-door neighbor, cherished grandchildren, and a host of their family members for the unwavering care, compassion, and support they showered upon Ronnie during his final years.
In lieu of flowers, the family graciously requests donations be made to Evangelistic House of Prayer Church in Ronnie's honor.
