Robert Nipper

Robert Delwin Nipper, 85, of Macon, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021. A celebration of Mr. Nipper's life will be held on Friday, January 22, at 2:00 PM at New Elim Baptist Church with the Reverend Johnny Baggett officiating. Immediately following, he will be laid to rest in the Juliette Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Nipper was born on March 30, 1935, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Sam Nipper and Bertha DeFord. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Mr. Nipper faithfully served his Lord and Savior through his church that he so loved, New Elim Baptist. In his free time, he loved to go fishing. Mr. Nipper's greatest joy came from those that called him PawPaw and Opa.
Mr. Nipper was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Wilma Ruth Nipper; children, Raymond Gavel, Polly Nipper, Jeanie Cox, and Robin Lund; and brother, Wendell Nipper.
Mr. Nipper is survived by his children, Hilbert Gavel, Alan Gavel, Lynn Gavel, Frankie Gavel (Angela), and John Gavel (Melissa); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Dottie Gillespie (Paul) and Billy Nipper.
