Robert Eugene "Gene" McDaniel, 59, of Byron went home to play in Gods band, Tuesday, February 7, 2017. Services to celebrate his life will be held Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home, 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Road, Macon. The family will have a time of visitation Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home
Born in Macon, Georgia, to Robert Lester McDaniel and Carolyn Cummings, Gene loved any and all types of music. He played Guitar, Mandolin, and Banjo but could play almost any instrument he picked up. Gene was a 1975 graduate of Southwest High School. After graduation, Gene began working with Capricorn Records where he worked for the majority of his life. Gene was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish garden, and spending time with his dogs.
Gene was preceded in death by his father; Robert Lester McDaniel and his Grandparents.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving family. Mother; Carolyn Cummings (Charles), Sister; Teresa Murner (Barry); Step-Sisters; Katrina Lynch (Grief) and Denise Martin. Nephews; Jonathan Murner (Lauren), and Timothy Murner. Niece; Dr. Jessica Hamilton (Andy). Two Great-Nephews, as well as several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
