Robert "Bobby" Curtis Lord

Robert “Bobby” Curtis Lord, 95, of Macon, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 13, 2026. Funeral services to honor his life will be held on Tuesday, August 18, at 11:00 a.m. at Lawrence Drive Baptist Church, with Pastor Phil Skelton officiating. Immediately following the service, Mr. Lord will be laid to rest at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Bobby was born on October 18, 1930, in Laurens County, Georgia, to the late Robert Alva and Eleanor Ruth Davis Lord. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict as a gunner aboard the USS Juneau.

Bobby was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 51 years. He was Past Master of both Lizella Lodge #663 and William A. Davis Daylight Lodge #753. He also served as a long-time treasurer for both lodges. He was a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Middle Georgia York Rite Bodies.

Above all, Bobby was a loving husband, father, granddaddy, and great-granddaddy who adored his family. He enjoyed fishing and bird hunting with his children and grandchildren and treasured the time spent with them. He was also an avid Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed cheering them on throughout the years. He was a long-standing and faithful member of Lawrence Drive Baptist Church.

Bobby was also deeply involved in his community. He served on the board of directors for South Macon Boys Baseball and managed the “A” Team Pirates for several years during the 1960s and 1970s. He was an avid bowler, participating in the Commercial Ten Pin League, Men’s Christian Fellowship League, and various other leagues from 1960 until 2020.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Lord was preceded in death by his sister, Jerry Warren; brother, Larry Lord; son-in-law, Butch Pergerson; and daughter-in-law, Sheila Lord.

Left to cherish Mr. Lord’s memory are his loving wife of 72 years, Joyce Lord; son, Tommy Lord; daughter, Elaine and Steve Arnold; and son, Curtis and Cathy Lord; seven grandchildren, Carl and Brittany Pergerson, Wesley and Shivonne Pergerson, April Lord, Casey Lord, Leah and Nathan Puckett, Lauren and Jason Gunn, and Allison Arnold; and ten great-grandchildren, Carlee and Kinley Pergerson, Hunter and Alauni Pergerson, Cameron Graham, Sara Lord, Elise Lord, Palmer Puckett, and Jamie and Danny Gunn.
