Robert Horton

April 9, 1944 — October 10, 2025

Robert Edward Horton, 81, of Macon, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025. Funeral services will be private.

Mr. Horton was born on April 4, 1944, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Mr. William Alfred Horton and Mrs. Doris Evelyn Clark Horton. He graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science, before proudly serving his country in the United States Army. Mr. Horton dedicated his entire career to Bell South Services, where he took great pride in his work and the many friendships he made along the way. A lifelong resident of Stone Mountain, Georgia, he cherished his community and the memories he built there over the years, before moving to Macon. Mr. Horton especially enjoyed reminiscing about his childhood and sharing stories from days gone by. A devoted fan of Georgia Tech football and the Atlanta Braves, he rarely missed a game and followed his teams with unwavering enthusiasm. In his leisure time, Mr. Horton found great joy in reading and exploring his family's genealogy, often spending hours researching and preserving the rich history of his ancestors.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Horton was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Barbara Kenda Horton and brother, Donald E Horton.

Left to cherish Mr. Horton's memory are his brother, W. L. Horton; three nephews; two nieces; three grand nephews; four grandnieces; and one great grandniece. Mr. Horton was affectionately known as Old Uncle Bob.
