Richard Brown

March 9, 1939 — October 15, 2021

Richard H. Brown Sr, 82, of Macon, Georgia passed away Friday, October 15, 2021. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Harvest Cathedral. Pastor Steve Sawyer will officiate.
Born in Macon, he was the son of the late Homer Erwin Brown and Louise Collins Brown. He was a retired insurance agent with over 50 years of service and owned Georgia Insurance Agency for over 40 years. After his retirement he continued to work part time with other agencies in Macon.
Mr. Brown attended Harvest Cathedral and was a former member of the Macon Jay Cees. He loved to be with his family, play cards and hold social meetings with his friends. Although he loved watching all sports, the Braves and the Bulldogs were his top teams.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Lewis Brown and his sister, Virginia Stokes.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Brown, Children, Georgia Brown, Genna Goodwin(Greg), Gaye DeWitt, Gerri Collins(Michael), Scott Brown(Kellye), Rick Brown(Renee), Tiffany Cooper(Stephen), Amy Hester, Joshua Hester(Renee), Grandchildren he raised as his own, Carson Brown, Cierra Heald, and Tripp Garrett. Siblings, Katherine Wehunt, Georgia Brown, Bobby Brown, and Frank Brown(Cindy); Seventeen grandchildren and Ten great grandchildren.
Richard never met a stranger, made an impact on everybody he ever met and he is leaving behind an amazing legacy. The family can be contacted at 7609 Lower Thomaston Rd, Macon, Georgia 31220.
In lieu of flowers the family requested donations to the Harvest Cathedral, 2254 Rocky Creek Road, Macon, Georgia 31206.
