Rhonda Jones

After a long struggle with cancer, Rhonda Ann Bobo Jones, 57, earned her heavenly wings on the evening of August 16, 2018. She was surrounded by family and friends who loved and adored her.
A celebration of Rhonda's life will be held on Saturday, August 25 at 1:00 p.m. at Lizella Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the celebration. Please come in beach or casual attire. As part of Rhonda's celebration, the family will welcome you to share Rhonda stories. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that you bring school supply donations and they will be distributed to local school children, as this was near and dear to Rhonda's heart.
Rhonda was born on July 1, 1961 in Milledgeville, Georgia to Richard Bobo and the late LaVerne Bobo. Rhonda graduated from Southwest High School in 1979. She continued her education at Georgia College and Troy State, ultimately earning her Masters and Specialist degrees in Early Childhood Education. She worked in various teaching positions in Bibb County for seventeen years. Her final placement was as an English as a Second Language teacher at Lane Elementary School. While Rhonda was teaching, she also became a licensed real estate agent.
Rhonda had a beautiful spirit about her. She was a friend to everyone and loved to laugh. She was always able to find the humor in things. She had a special love for the beach and enjoyed her time at their house in Carrabelle.
Left to cherish her memory, is her husband of 35 years, Robert "Red" Jones; her only son, Coty Jones (Sarah); her father, Richard Bobo (Shirley); her sister, Jeri Jackson (Jimmy); her brothers, Ricky Bobo and Ricky Page (Jackie) and a host of other family members. In addition, Rhonda leaves behind many friends who were like family, and they know who they are. She also leaves behind her fur baby, Axel Rose.
