Reggie Gibson entered into his eternal glory and met his Lord and Savior on April 14, 2026. He was a lifelong resident of Macon, GA. Born January 18, 1947, to his father, Jake Lynwood Gibson and his mother, Lucy Perkins Gibson.
The Family invites friends to join them for a time of visitation 6:00 Pm -8:00 Pm Thursday April 16, 2026, at FairHaven Funeral Home, 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Rd. Macon, GA. A celebration of life will be held 10:00 AM Friday April 17,2026 at Porterfield Baptist Church with Dr. William Hardee and Rev. Richard Jacobs officiating. Immediately following services Reggie will be laid to rest at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, 7070 Houston Rd. Macon, GA.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, his sister, Yvonne Carey, and grandparents.
He served 6 years in the Geogia Army National Guard.
Reggie and his wife Evelyn Gibson were home builders and owned R.J. Gibson Construction Co. He was co-owner and president of Gibson and Carey Development Co. and B&G Water Company.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved hunting bear in Canada. Reggie enjoyed working in his shop. He was the greatest husband, dad, Grandpa and Great Grandpa.
He was a member of Porterfield Baptist Church where he served as an ordain deacon and he and his family were instrumental in many building projects. Most of all, Reggie led the RA’s program for many years. He felt that God gave him a gift and responsibility to lead these young men to the Lord. He was their mentor.
Memories of his awesome life, and his love and devotion of family will always be with his wife Evelyn Gibson and his daughters, Lyndy Mayson and Cyndy Watkins; Grandchildren, Kayla Hatfield, Bayley Yarbrough, Hannah Watkins, and Ansley Jo Watkins and his great grandchildren, Kaylyn, Kinzley, Lily, Rylee; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. He loved them so much.
He set the example for what a true Christian gentleman should be.
