Reba Joyce Mathieux

Reba Joyce Jacobs-Mathieux, 63, of Byron, Georgia, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. A service to celebrate Reba’s life will be announced at a later date.

Reba was born on June 29, 1963, in Sanford, Florida. She was a one-of-a-kind soul whose bold spirit, strong personality, and caring heart left an unforgettable impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Reba was stubborn when she needed to be, fiercely independent, and never afraid to speak her mind. She was an old country soul with a love for country music, singing, dancing, and simply enjoying life on her own terms. Those who knew her best lovingly knew her as a true “Hell Cat”, strong, spirited, and impossible to forget.

Above all else, Reba had an extraordinary love for animals. Her many fur babies were not simply pets; they were her children and an important part of her life. She had a tender heart for animals and a caring nature toward everyone she encountered. She loved the outdoors and found some of her greatest happiness in the freedom and beauty of being outside.

Reba was also a true “River Rat.” She loved being on the water, especially at Lake Geneva, where she could enjoy the outdoors, make memories, and feel most at home. She loved riding four-wheelers, exploring, laughing, and having a good time. In more recent years, Reba enjoyed creating content on TikTok, sharing her personality, creativity, and unique sense of humor with others.

Her faith was also an important part of her final days. On Saturday, August 22, 2026, Reba took her “Walk of Faith” with Pastor Johnny Baggett, a meaningful moment that brought comfort and peace as she prepared for the journey ahead.

Reba’s life was filled with people she loved and who loved her in return. She will be deeply missed, but the memories she created, the laughter she shared, and the love she gave will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Reba was preceded in death by her mother, Sharon Joyce Jacobs; brother, Jessie Jacobs, and her niece, Jessica Jacobs.

Those left to cherish her memory include her brother, Johnny (Kitty) Jacobs II; her sister, Sherri Jacobs; her godson, Eli Guilmette; lifelong friends, Melissa (Robert) Guilmette, Jennifer (Russell) Smith, Amber Smith, and Maddison Smith; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

The friends and family would like to extend a very special thank you to Brandi and Sonya for the love, care, kindness, and shelter they provided to Reba during the final days of her life. Their compassion and presence meant more than words can express.

Reba was deeply loved by her family and friends, and she leaves behind a legacy that is as strong and unforgettable as the woman she was. May she now be at peace, surrounded by the love she gave so freely, reunited with those who went before her, and forever running free with her beloved fur babies, with the waters of Lake Geneva never far from her memory.
