Ray Long

Ray E. Long, 94, of Lizella, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2020. Graveside services to honor his life will be held on Monday, October 5, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Long was born on September 24, 1926 in Lizella where he lived his entire life. He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force with over 20 years of faithful serve. He achieved the rank of Tech Sergeant and retired from Robins Air Force Base. Mr. Long spent his time volunteering and was a advocate for the mentally handicapped. He was true caretaker and nurturer, putting everyone before himself and never saying "no" to anything his family may need. In his free time, he enjoyed collecting and restoring antique furniture.
Mr. Long was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his daughter; Christie Long.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving family. His wife; Patricia Lenette Long, Children; Sean Long and Cherie Long. Grandchildren; Setara Long, Sean Ryan Long, and Collin Patrick Truet. Great grandchild; Nova Hope Johnson as well as a large extended family.
