Ray Shivers Ellerbee, 90, of Lizella, Georgia, went to be with his Lord Wednesday July 2, 2025. A Graveside service to honor his life will be 10:00 AM Tuesday July 8, 2025, at Hendricks Baptist Church Cemetery, 2233 Hendricks Church Rd, Thomaston, GA 30286.
Ray was born July 11, 1934, in Thomaston, Georgia to the late Mr. Mark Ellerbee Sr. and Mrs. Bertha Shivers. He lived a life marked by devotion, passion, and purpose. A proud U.S. Air Force veteran, he carried his patriotic spirit with quiet strength and dignity throughout his years. Ray had a deep love for classic cars, whether he was restoring them to their former glory or adding another treasure to his collection, he found joy in every detail. His voice could often be heard over CB and ham radio waves, where he connected with fellow enthusiasts and built a network of lasting friendships. A faithful Christian, Ray lived his beliefs through kindness, integrity, and service to others. His life was a testament to dedication whether to his country, his hobbies, or his faith, and he leaves behind a legacy of honor and heart.
In addition to his parents, Ray is predeceased in death by his loving wife Joyce Ellerbee and his siblings.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Amber Ellerbee; grandchildren, Adrienne Ellerbee, Madison Watson; very special friends, David and Casey Smith; and his adorable fur baby Riley.
