Randel Anderson, or "Bubba" as he was affectionately known by his loved ones and friends, 81, of Macon, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021. A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, August 20, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. in Riverside Cemetery.
Randel was born on February 15, 1940, in Glenwood, Georgia, to the late Leroy and Jennie Anderson. He was a 1958 graduate of Lanier High School, where he played baseball and was a pitcher. Randel not only had a love for the game of baseball, but he was also great at it, getting offered an opportunity to play in the major leagues. As good of an opportunity as that was, Randel turned it down to stay back and help his family. After graduation, Randel enlisted in the United States Army where he served from February of 1962 to February of 1968. He later went to work at Robins Air Force Base as a civil servant, working in electronics, and retired after 36 years. Randel was probably most well-known by everyone in the community for his work as a self-employed tax return preparer, for over 50 years. He served his Lord and Savior through his hard work and dedication at Park Memorial United Methodist Church. In his free time, he loved being outside, especially cutting grass and reading his bible daily. In his younger years he enjoyed playing golf. The one thing that Randel loved more than anything was his family, they were his pride and joy.
Randel was preceded in death by the love of his life, Joyce Stuckey Anderson, and sister, Carolyn Mauro.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving family; His daughter; Wendy Bloodworth (David). Grandchildren; Molly Lindsey (Matt) and Zack Bloodworth. Sister; Annette Little, sister-in-law; Kathy Wright and his grandpups.
