Rachel Lavern Garrett McGahee, 74, of Macon, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 29, 2018. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home, 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Rd. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Immediately following, Rachel will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Pastor Tommy Odum will officiate.
Rachel was born on February 20, 1944 in Barnesville, Georgia to the late Willie and Mary Etta Garrett. She worked the majority of her life as a manager for Krystal, and worked at various locations throughout Macon, but mostly at the Macon Mall location. She was a resident of Pruitt Health for the past 16 years, where she considered everyone there her family, and was involved with the activities there. She loved arts, crafts, and drawing, especially making bracelets for the residents. She also enjoyed crocheting and reading her Bible. Rachel was by far her happiest when she was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a giving spirit and gracious heart that will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving family. Three children; Rachel West (Cliff) of South Carolina, Danny McGahee (Lynn) of Roberta and Linda Neville (George) of Bonaire. Grandchildren; Brett West, Ben West, Erica O'Neal (Charles), Andrew Neville (Elayne) and Brooke Neville. Great grandchildren; Ethan West, Addyson O'Neal and Kenzie O'Neal. Siblings; Tommy Garrett of Macon, Buck Garrett of Carrollton, Bernice McGaha of Forsyth, Ruth Pilcher of Jackson and Etta Mae Ammons of Jones County.
