Phyllis Leone Gregory, 79, of Macon, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. She will be lovingly remembered for her strong faith, generous heart, caring spirit, and steadfast nature. Phyllis was a woman who never hesitated to help others and was always willing to give of herself to those in need. She was selfless, hardworking, feisty, and strong, leaving an impression on everyone blessed to know her.

Phyllis was born on January 7, 1947, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Mr. Arville Crowder and Mrs. Gladys Crowder. Throughout her life, she found joy in the simple things that brought comfort and happiness. She loved to crochet and took great pride in the things she created with her own hands. For a short time, she worked as a hairstylist, loom operator at Willingham Cotton Mill, and deli Associate at Piggily Wiggly, she enjoyed the opportunity to serve and connect with others. Above all, Phyllis simply loved people and found fulfillment in helping those around her.

Her faith was a central part of her life. Phyllis loved her Lord and cherished attending church. Her faith provided her with strength and guidance throughout her life, and she remained steadfast in what she believed. She possessed a quiet strength and determination that carried her through life's challenges, and those who knew her best will remember her as someone who stood firmly by the people and things she loved.

Phyllis also enjoyed relaxing with one of her favorite Westerns, especially Gunsmoke. Whether crocheting, watching her favorite television programs, attending church, or simply spending time with those she loved, she appreciated the moments that made life meaningful.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her loving husband of more than 55 years, John Joe Gregory; and her sisters, Bernice (Marvin) Harper, Jerry Johnson, and Elaine (Jack) Johnson.

Phyllis leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will continue to live on through her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but those who shared her life can find comfort in knowing that her love, generosity, strength, and faith will remain a part of them forever.
