Phillip Roy Collins

January 18, 1953 — December 30, 2025

Macon

Phillip Roy Collins, 72, of Macon, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. Phillip lived a full and meaningful life, marked by joy, determination, faith, and a deep love for people.

A service to celebrate Phillip’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026, at FairHaven Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Pastor Evans D. Brown Sr. will officiate.

Phillip was born on January 18, 1953, in Metter, Georgia, to the late Mr. Ernest L. Collins and Mrs. Ernestine F. Collins. He was a proud member of White Oaks Freewill Baptist Church, where his faith and fellowship were important parts of his life.

From an early age, Phillip showed determination and heart. He was a Boy Scout, achieving the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout, a testament to his perseverance and character. He was also an honorary Bibb County Fireman and an honorary member of the Lions Club, honors that reflected the respect he earned within his community.

Phillip actively participated in the Advocacy Resource Center (ARC) of Macon, where he formed lasting friendships and continued to live life to the fullest. He had a lifelong love of sports and proudly participated in the Special Olympics, enjoying bowling, tennis, and softball. He also loved playing the guitar and had a deep appreciation for Southern Gospel music.

Phillip delighted in life’s simple pleasures, especially Mountain Dew, Krispy Kreme lemon-filled doughnuts, and any cheeseburger from anywhere. He was stubborn in the best way, fiercely loyal, funny, happy, and true to his word, expecting the same honesty from others. Known for being a bit spoiled and undeniably a ladies’ man, Phillip’s personality was as big as his heart.

In addition to his parents, Phillip was preceded in death by his brother, Marion (Margie) Collins; sister, Yvonne (Fred) Mullis; and nephew, Mark Mullis.

Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Jimmy (Rudeen) Collins; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family, along with countless friends whose lives were made brighter by knowing him.

Phillip Roy Collins will be remembered for his laughter, his strength, his faith, and the love he shared so freely. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
